Once a forest or any patch of nature becomes your liability, you can really determine what happens to it. It’s a big responsibility because it’s the future of our biodiversity.

That night, the foundations of what Bioporio pursues were laid:
purchase and organize the preservation of forests.

After many discussions and refinements, our vision has grown into a significant mission. Today, Bioporio operates with private shareholder resources, driven by a clear goal: acquiring and protecting primary forests to safeguard biodiversity, store carbon, and support local communities.

With offices in São Paulo and Bogotá, our team of local and international experts develops high-impact projects that integrate conservation, carbon solutions, and sustainable development. We bring global and local experience, understanding both the responsibilities of owning large forested areas and the importance of working alongside local communities who have deep knowledge of the land.

Carbon credits play a vital role in financing forest conservation, ensuring long-term protection while creating economic opportunities for local communities. We believe that primary forests store vast amounts of carbon and deserve recognition in carbon markets—not just when they are ‘actively’ threatened. By securing these forests and integrating them into climate finance mechanisms, we provide a sustainable path for conservation, proving that environmental protection and economic viability can go hand in hand.

Our journey began with an acquisition in Brazil, recognizing the Amazon’s global importance. Now, we are expanding our impact to Colombia, where vast, biodiverse landscapes need urgent conservation efforts.
